The African Cup Of Nations 2019 round of 16 which kicks off today came with full surprise as Benin Republic eliminated Morocco 4-1 on penalty.
Benin Republic become the first team to qualify for the AFCON 2019 quarter finals
The Moroccans who won all their group matches and  were expected to be the favourites in this encounter,  were held to a 1-1 draw by the resilient and fighting Benin team.

A goal from Moise Adilehou in the 53rd minute lifted the spirit of the Benin team who only had a ball possession of 39% in the match.

The Moroccans equalized at the 76th minute with a fine goal from Youssef En-Nesyri. They were also given a penalty towards the end of the match, but blew the chance away.

The match extended to extra time with either team failing to see the back of the net at the 120 minutes and then it resulted to a penalty shoot out.

Benin won the match on penalty by 4-1 and are now the first team to qualify for the quarter final of this year's Africa Cup Of Nations 2019.
