COVID-19 cases in Africa
The deadly coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has circulated the African continent, with 52 infected countries recorded so far, South Africa leading the chart with 3,953 confirmed cases and only two countries free from the ravaging virus.

According to the latest data reported by the Africa Center for Disease Control on COVID-19, there are now more than 27,500 confirmed cases of COVID-19 across the continent, with a number of countries implementing several measures to curb the spread of the pandemic.

As 7:00am on April 24, a lot of Africa countries recorded increases in the number of confirmed cases, taking the total number across the African nations to 27,385, with 1,297 total death cases recorded.

On Thursday 23 April, the Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West Africa States (ECOWAS), held a teleconference summit to discuss the devastating effects of COVID-19 on humans and the economics of the member-states.

At the end of the summit, Nigeria President, Buhari was appointed to lead the response towards the fight against the ravaging coronavirus in the continent.
