Former Man United Midfielder Fellaini Discharged After Treating Coronavirus For 14 Days

Former Manchester United and Everton midfielder, Marouane Fellaini has been discharged from hospital after his second coronavirus test came out negative.

About a month ago, the Belgian midfielder tested positive for the novel Coronavirus and was placed on an immediate treatment while observing the required 14 days isolation and quarantine period.

Fellaini who presently plays for the Chinese club Shandong Luneng has been in medical clinic accepting treatment for as far back as three weeks and today Tuesday was released subsequent to testing negative for the virus.

“Fellaini was assessed and was deemed to have recovered, and was discharged today,” Shandong football club said in a brief statement on Tuesday.

He joined Manchester United in 2013 from Everton, in a deal worth around £27.5 million after spending five years at Goodison Park.

After five years with Manchester United that included four trophies, Fellaini joined Shandong Luneng in February 2019.

The 32-year-old who retired from international football in March 2019 was the only Chinese Super League (CSL) player known to have contracted the virus.

He will now spend another 14 days in quarantine for further observation.
