Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu
Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has revealed when religious centres (e.g Mosque and Churches) will be allowed to reopen in the state.

The governor disclosed this on Thursday during a briefing at the Government House, Lagos Island, Marina.

He said that worship centres in the state will be allowed to reopen from June 19;  Islamic worship centres are to reopen from June 19, while Christian worship centres are to begin services from June 21.

Mackenzieskyblog recalled that President Buhari, through the Presidential Task Force (PTF) had given a statement on the easing of lockdown in the country, where it stated that Churches and Mosques are now allowed to reopen, but schools remain shut.

However, following the daily increase of the novel virus (COVID-19) in the State, the governor has decided to extend the date to June 19, as part of the measures to curb the spread of the virus.

According to The Nation, the governor also asked all civil servants on grade level 13 and above to resume work on Monday, June 8, while those below should remain at home.

He said:

“As regards public service, we are asking all of our officers on Grade Level 13 and 14 on the unified public service to resume work from Monday, June 8, 2020.

“We are still holding back from Grade Level 1 -12 till further notice.”
