Leroy Sane Pens Down An Emotional Open Letter To City Fans As He Completes Bayern Move

Former Manchester City winger, Leroy Sane is now officially a Bayern Munich player, as he completes a £54.8m transfer to the German champion.

The German attacking midfielder took to his verified Twitter handle to write a heartfelt thank you letter to the fans of his former club, highlighting some historical and memorable moments, including the number of goals and trophies they scored and lifted together.

He tweeted;

"Thanks so much for the great times and the support over the last four years. It has been a really intense and successful time which I surely won't forget. 

"We won many games, scored a ton of goals, broke a couple of records, and celebrated seven trophies together.

"Thanks to all the fans, to the staffs, and to my teammates! I will always remember th I time with great joy and pride. Also thanks to my coach, who has made me a better player and has a large share of my PFA Young Player of the Year Award 2018.

"I have learned a lot, and I am very proud to have been part of this journey."

The 24-year-old Germany international signed a five-year contract with Bayern after passing the second part of his medical on Thursday morning.

Sane, who joined City from Schalke in 2016 described FC Bayern as a great club with big goals and also disclosed that the Champions League trophy is the club's and his main priority.

Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola said he wished to have kept Sane in the club but wishes him well as he embarks in a new chapter of his career.

He said: 

"We wish Leroy all the best in this new chapter of his career.

"Leroy has been part of one of the most special periods in this club's history and he leaves with the best wishes of everyone here at Manchester City."
