Smalling Set To Return To Man United After A Successful Loan Spell At Roma
Chris Smalling
Manchester United loanee central defender, Chris Smalling will not feature in Roma's Europa League campaign with Spanish side Sevilla as he is set to return to the theatre of dreams for next season's Premier League campaign.

Smalling made this known in a tweet via his verified Twitter page, where he wrote a farewell message to Roma fans thanking them for the love and supports shown to him during his short spell in Italy.

He expressed how disappointed he is not to be able to finish what he has started with the club this season and he also used the opportunity to wish the club the best of luck in their second leg Europa League encounter with Sevilla.

He wrote:

“I’m gutted that I can’t finish what we started this season.

“To experience the love shown to me in such a short time was extra special and it will not be forgotten.

“I want to thank and wish all the players and staff the best of luck against Sevilla. DAJE ROMA!”

The 30-year-old featured 30 times for the Italian club this season, scored three times and made two assists.

Smalling will be looking forward to finding his way into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer starting eleven next season, with the likes of Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof having cemented their place in the heart of United's defense.
