West Brom Goalkeeper Complains About Bruno Fernandes Spot-Kick Technique

West Bromwich Albion F.C. goalkeeper, Sam Johnstone has taken to social media to complain about Bruno Fernandes penalty technique in United's 1-0 win.

The former Manchester United's goalkeeper was punished against his former side for coming off his line when he saved Fernandes' initial attempt but believes the Portugal international's technique was unfair.

The penalty was given for a handball by Darnell Furlong inside the box following a Juan Mata cross.

"And a striker shouldn’t be able to hop skip and jump before kicking it," Johnstone posted.

He strongly believes that goalkeepers should be allowed to freely move in the six-yard box for spot-kicks.

Fernandes scored the game’s only goal as United beat West Bromwich Albion 1-0 at Old Trafford on Saturday night.

In another news, football pundit Ian Wright has called for Premier League officials to ban Bruno Fernandes’ signature jump penalty technique claiming it’s “not fair.”

He added that Fernandes stuttering run-up and jump before striking the ball makes it harder for the goalkeeper to time their dive.

Bruno Fernandes has been known to incorporate a small jump in his penalty style, a technique that has won him lots of success anytime he steps outs for a spot-kick.
