"They Were So Fast On The Counter" - Guardiola reacts as Man United defeat Man City at Etihad

 Man City vs Man Utd
Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola, has reacted to his side’s Premier League 2-0 defeat against Manchester United at Etihad on Sunday.

Guardiola insisted that Man City was not “clinical” enough in attacking areas against Man United, adding that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side was so fast on the counter-attack.

Man United defeated Man City 2-0 at Etihad, thanks to two goals from United's attacking midfielder Bruno Fernandes and left-back Luke Shaw.

Despite the defeat, Man City is still on top of the Premier League table with 11 points clear of second place, Man United, with 10 games (30 points) left to fight for.

During a post-match interview with Sky Sports, Guardiola said;

“It was a fantastic game. United make incredibly high pressing, and they are so fast on the counter. We played well. Unfortunately, we couldn’t be clinical upfront, so we congratulate United.

“We will be the news because we lost. But the news is 21 victories in a row. There are still 30 points to play, and we have to start to win again.

“That’s football. Sometimes it happens. We played much better than the game against West Ham which we won.

“It’s always the same. We win a game and then move onto the next one. It’s the same here. We lose this, so we go to the next one. It’s a lesson. Even at 0-2, we played really well.”

Man City’s next match is against Southampton on Wednesday at the Etihad.
